Field Trips Will Resume in the Spring

See you when the flowers bloom…

Our mission for each field trip to the farm is simple, cultivate curiosity. The secret to an excellent education is experience. Just like a farmer knows a bountiful harvest starts from a tiny seed, we know that kids' lives are transformed one experience at a time. So, when people ask us what we grow around the farm, we say... "We grow wonder, grow friendships, and grow minds."

What to expect from a field trip at Skitts Mountain Farms.

Tailored Experiences for Your School

We understand that every school has different needs and goals, so we tailor our experiences to match your curriculum requirements. Whether you're focused on biology, environmental studies, Georgia History, or any other subject, we're here to align with your specific learning objectives.

One of the highlights of our field trips is the wagon ride; it's the educational piece we offer to every school that visits with us, where our tour guide will take you on a journey through the fascinating history of the Skitts Mountain area in North Georgia. It's educational and entertaining all in one! In addition, some teachers choose to discuss other topics related to the activities at Skitts with their students on the day of the trip, while others prefer to follow up afterward. The choice is yours!

The most natural fit is around Georgia's History and the different areas of science. However, we have had teachers incorporate everything from math to physical education as well. The possibilities are endless!

To make that part as easy as possible, we created a list of the Georgia Standards of Excellence Standards requirements, specifically around science, that can be derived from a trip to Skitts.
